Donovan John Szypura
Donovan is a Creative Director, Graphic Designer and Music Producer. He was fortunate to be able to work with some international innovators and pioneers like Matthew Ashman (Adam Ant, Bow Wow Wow) and Thomas Gabriel Fischer (Celtic Frost).
In 1999, Donovan signed an artist contract with Sanctuary Records, one of the largest independent record labels in the UK, as a member of Apollyon Sun.
Since 2001, Donovan releases music under the name of Earthphish and composed music for the award-winning dance company Earthphish Dance.
In 2009, Donovan's Design work received the Red Dot Design Award for the first Real-Time Corporate Identity for Namics while working with Heads Corporate Communication in Zurich, Switzerland.
Donovan composed music for 3TD studio’s art installation ‘The Great Acceleration’ at The Cube (Queensland University of Technology) in 2019.
In the same year, Donovan collaborated with Michael Vivarelli and conceptualised the 'Machine', which got accepted for HyPe, a Hybrid Performance Program initiative of Salamanca Arts Centre in Tasmania. Due to COVID-19, the project was cancelled and was not realised.
In 2020, Donovan produced the album 'Turtles All the Way Down' for Earthphish featuring a single with Lee 'Scratch' Perry, the grandmaster of Dub and Reggae. Donovan directed a series of music videos for Earthphish for their latest album.
